TRIP TO BREMEN, GERMANY - AUTUMN 2014
34 members of the choir flew from Edinburgh to Bremen on Monday 13th October. During our five day stay we performed two concerts. The first one was at the Remberti residential home where we received a very warm welcome with an appreciative audience.
Our second concert was in the Emmanuel Kirche in the Walle district of Bremen.
At this concert we joined up with local choir “West Voices”. Each choir performed a half hour programme and then we joined forces for a seventy strong rendition of “Sailing”, “Drunken Sailor” and “ California Dreamin” - a great experience for all!
Our concert venue was excellent and we all performed to a very large, enthusiastic audience. Both choirs went for a meal together afterwards where new friendships were formed. We hope that some of their choir may visit St Monans in the future.
Following the concert we were given a generous donation for us to give to a local Scottish charity of our choice. We have donated this to “Children 1st”, a charity who we had recently supported by singing at an event in Elie, Fife.
During our five days in Bremen the choir enjoyed exploring the beautiful city , with a guided tour of the Rathaus being a highlight. We all appreciated the wonderful accommodation, meals, sightseeing and shopping and the trip was unanimously voted a great success in all aspects.
