St Monans Community Arts Festival 2011  -  Friday 16th - Sunday 18th September

Sunday 18th September - Choir Concert 3pm in St Monans Church
Programme will include World Premiere of 
"A Fife Cantata" , a setting of poems by local poet John Brewster to music by local musician Brian Craib.

ST MONANS COMMUNITY ARTS FESTIVAL 16TH – 18TH SEPTEMBER 2011    
FRIDAY 16TH SEPT -                     6.30pm Opening event in St Monans Primary School. Performances by         
                                             local school children.
SATURDAY 17TH SEPT -               A day oftaster sessions in St Monans Town Hall.

                                               10am – Boxfit

                                               12pm -  Thai Chi

                                               1.30pm – Dance workshop ( Ashleigh Montador)

                                               4pm -     Zumba

                                               Workshops in St Monans Church Hall

                                               10am – Creative Writing for 8 -12 year olds

                                               12pm -  Creative Writing for 13 upwards

                                               2.30pm – Book Launch ( The Familiar  by  Gordon Meade)

                                               Workshop in Abercrombie Court lounge

                                               10am – Words and Music

                                               Performances

                                                          11am in Town Hall. Theatre Odyssey story telling.

                                               1pm in Mayview Hotel. Mike Hildary Film Show.

                                               2pm in St Monans Church. Priory Singers , St Andrews.

                                               A programme of choral music both sacred and secular.

                                               4pm in St Monans Church. Allegramente Quintet.

                                               Stewart Webster ( violin),Kirsty Orton( violin), Hannah Craib(viola)

                                               Elizabeth Webster ( cello) Brian Craib( double bass)

                                               Programme : Dvorak Quintet in G (Opus 77)

                                               Catfish Row Fantasy by Brian Craib ( after Gershwin)

                                               Strictly Come Dancing  arr by Brian Craib.

                                               7pm – Jazz, Blues and Folk Night in Mayview Hotel.

SUNDAY 18TH SEPT -                    10am – Festival Church Service in St Monans Church.

                                               Performances

                                               1.30pm  - Byre Rhythm outside Mayview Hotel.

                                               Taiko drumming display.

                                               3pm – in St Monans Church. Community Choir.

                                               Programme: A Fife Cantata ( written especially for this year’s festival
                                              by John Brewster and Brian Craib) Instrumental interlude by the Craibs.

                                               A selection of popular songs

                                               7pm – Closing  Family Ceilidh in the Mayview Hotel. An evening of
                                               dancing, entertainment and a light buffet. Live music.
 
                                               Tickets ( Adults £7.50, children ( accompanied) under 14, £5)

ALL DAY EVENTS SAT AND SUN

                                                         10am – 5pm Arts and Crafts Fair in Church Hall ( plus artists at home)

                                              10am – 5pm Camera Exhibition in former Salvation Army Hall

                                               Sat 10-4 and Sun 10 -2.30 – Café in Church Hall
